Hi Stan,
Put me down for a Micro dinner set, and matching engraved cutlery.
Thanks,

Don, I agree with Pippo, and you, in as much as we don't need no
splinters! I had my fill of splinters building Snow Goose.
What I, personally am hoping for is; First and foremost, a Micro
registry, world wide, Now THAT would be a fraternity! Beyond that, a
news letter might be a nice thing. At the very least, publishing the
list of owners to the members. It seems to me, anything else would be a
duplication of what already exists. For a place to meet and discuss
Micro stuff, we already have it, the Bolger Egroup, since just about
everyone here is a Micro person or a potential Micro person. A place to
publish, The Duckworks on line mag is a great place for that. As far as
anything formal, restricted, or regimented, no way, after all, we are
talking about Micro owners, the most free thinking, independent,
nonconformists, in the home boat building industry. Now we come to the
most important part, Mugs, hats, and T shirts, YES, YES, YES! Let the
mighty Mu, rule!

Don - I agree with some of your points, however I don't see any reason
why the MOA should splinter off the group. My personal opinion is that
the principal "product" of the MOA should be a journal, or a
newsletter, dedicated to building and sailing aspects of the Micro
series boats, and possibly a boat registry. Given the impressive number
of such boats in the making, I think this would be a nice service.
Nothing formal though: I think that the chat stuff could easily
continue on these pages, while a more dedicated web space might be
organized somewhere else to file specific stuff, such as articles from
builders, cruise reports, etc. I'm pretty convinced that no password
whatsoever will be ever asked to anybody to access the material! I also
know that PCB&F are looking for "how-to" info on all their boats. Look
around and you'll find almost nothing related to the Micro series,
except a few pictures here and there. Mugs, hats and T-shirts would be
nice too to have...

Sorry to sound skeptical, but I wonder why a MOA is needed, or
what it's function is.
Personally, I find this egroup gives and takes all the Micro
information anyone would ever need. Also, I am interested in any
Bolger boat, and it is all here in one place. When some are talking
of adding LM's and others, don't we almost end up with the same
thing as this?
Tim also has a good point...we don't want the frightening prospect
of dozens of post-coital flushed Wharram groupies flooding the
ewaves!
Seriously, I don't want to be a wet blanket...everyone to his
own....but I can't see the point, and I think it is sad to splinter off
from here.
