No point in flaming you Jason....I think you are fireproof!
Now it's hard to be certain, but I'm predicting by launch time your
Navigator will be a 100ft catamaran with 3 chinese junk sails and a
200hp outboard.
I don't think you are too far away from the spirit of Bolger.
Go for it,

I don't think you are too far away from the spirit of Bolger.
Go for it,

O.K.
So this keel had really stressed me out.
Could'nt sleep last night so i stayed up till 4 reading, sketching
in scale and doing math. Started at 8am sharp this morning. My keel
is now a 4 foot long overgrown skeg with a rudder post at the end
(built to the same depth as deepest part of the hull) and i plan on
an AS19 stubby monster endplated rudder. Cut out most of the ballast
to recycle back into some internal ballast. I built the
birdwatcher's of center board case flush up on the port berth and
butted up against the second bulkhead. Made a quarter circle 3.75
foot radius board out of cardboard to play with and am planing on 2
pivit points incase the weather helm is a bit much i can move it aft
4-6 inches.
The case is done nailed and glassed in. just need it to set up so i
can plunge the router through the bottom to cut the slot and glass
that up. Oh yes i'm going to add two more external stingers to match
the "keel" batten and stiffen up the 3/4" bottom ala' cynthia j.
More work than redoing the keel....Yes.
Am i having fun....Yes.
Will it balance and point to windward.....I think so.
Will it right from 90 degrees.....Yes
Point is it's my little beast, it won't have any resale regardless
of what i do and it's a box after all not a super sleek racer and
a "learning"project for me. I think she'll be an great little
inshore camp cruiser and now i get to use my most local ramp on the
Mon. River just 15" deep at a little fish and wildlife ramp made for
canoes and jonboats.
Not really sure i care if it doesn't work out exactly. It will be
fun fixing it.
So now there is no doubt this is a bolger inspired boat and not a
bolger micro navigator. Part micro, martha jane, cynthia j, AS19,
birdwatcher may paint it like tomboy the jessie cooper, the wonder
mutant boat!
Gasp.............go ahead shake your heads at my rash coffee induced
manic morning.
I don't think i'll tell Bolger about all this even though he just
said no leeboards, never mentioned an offcenterboard ;O
