I saw the boat when under construction, and when complete, and in
the water, but not when underway. An interesting design, but with
serious flaws. I'm sure many of the flaws could be fixed, but maybe
not all.
Bolger suggested somewhere that the Manatee/Alert design would be
better for most any use. The Breakdown Schooner is another
possibility. Or the Jochems Schooner. Basically, it's a lot of work
to build for the capability, the rig is unusual and required a lot
of tinkering, and the cash value of the boat once built is probably
zero.
On the other hand, a boat which I believe is Peter Duff's original
Black Gauntlet is for sale (per MAIB) in Connecticut for $3200. n
old plywood boat, but a piece of history (at least, to us on this
list).

You are probably aware of Phil Bolger's book
_Different Boats_, Chapter 29, about Triad.

Good Evening,
I heard about Bolger's "Triad", a 50' plywood ketch built in three sections.
Does anybody have an URL?
Fotos? Drawings? Articles?
I would be very interested in it.
TIA (thanks in advance)
