Use 3M101 instead of 5200. 5200 will tear the wood apart if you have to
remove a fitting. Also put a rubber washer under each of the fasteners. That
way you'll tighten down on the washer and not squeeze out all the sealant, a
sure cause for leaks.

Hey folks,
Got a good weather window here and got the micro primed and painted!
Looks pretty good. How long should i let the paint set up before
bedding down some deck hardware and brass hatch rail? Going to use
5200 on the hand rails and toe rails and some GE silcone on the
windows. Also has anyone used the bootstripe tape? Don't see myself
painting that even of a line and wonder how well the tape will
adhere to good ol' latex.
I'll post some pics when i get the brightwork attached. It's real
plain, verging on ugly with out the shiny stuff in place.
