[bolger] Keruing Marine Plywood?

Hi all,

I';m new aboard, although I've been lurking the various Bolger newgroups for a
while, THis one appears to be the most active, so here goes. I've just finished
a nice little 8-foot stitch-and-glue pram with my son (my first boat), and have
decied on the OldShoe as boat #2, and recieved the palns from Jerry at C.S.B.
two weeks ago. Been busy stuying them, pestering the other OldShoers on the
'Net, and building a small model. Having lots of fun and haven't evenm touched
saw to wood yet! Fo rthat matter haven't even bought the wood yet, which brings
us to the question du jour:

Anybody have any experience with Keruing Marine Plywood (from Burma, distributed
in U.S. through Resouce's International). It' s about 30% cheaper than Okume
(yes, I'm well aware that there are several different grades of Okume, but I
have no idea what the correct spelling is! Occume?), which is a plus right
there. The distributer claims the moon about it, of course, but they say that
it's BS1088 complaint (although they didn't mention *cretified*) and that the
faces won't check. Any thoughts? (Besides the obvious..caveat emptor, ya gets
what ya pays for, and if your going to put umpteen hours of sweat/time into a
boat, what's a few more bucks for the BEST plywood?)

Cheers!

Tom B.
