glassbottom boats
i've had good luck with lexan (3/16) 1' x 1' insert in bottom of my
old dory - built a strong frame with 1" black-gum & epoxee - fastened
lexan in with mechanical fastening (rabbit & glue/screw) & didn't
worry about scratches because once the soon-to-be-scratched bottom
gets underwater it goes clear & inside the boat a splash of water
clears up any scratches. Oh - lexan does not break or crack - if it
does, it ain't lexan. lexan tears and cuts but is VERY tough - got
mine through GRANGER.COM - use my glass bottom window for viewing -
lighting up to attract minnows & i set my depthsounder transponder on
it.rpj3@...
