RE: Bolger's Cruisers

The Blackgauntlet II (shown in _The Folding Schooner_), an ~33x8 cruising
sharpie in a more traditional style than AS29, might be suitable. Have you
considered it?

Also, in _30 Odd Boats_, there are several designs worth looking at. First
there's Jessie Cooper, which at 24' is a little too short for you. But, if
stretched to about 30', and the rig moved to the center line, this would be a
possible candidate. I've always thought that Jesse Cooper shows just a bit
more character than AS29. That's Jesse Cooper in the upper right hand
photograph on the cover of BWAOM, which always confused me because she's not
in that book.

Next are Lion's Paw and Apogee, both at around 38x9 feet, probably too big,
but worth a look anyway. Both are designed to be built in metal, Lion's Paw a
steel sharpie, and Apogee an aluminum "Presto" style boat (essentially a
sharpie with some deadrise). Both could be built in ply or coldmolded wood,
with some ballast adjustments.
