Bolger 5 photos added...

I just uploaded some photos to Bolger 5 group under Gene's boats. Two
unchristened boats! Ran out of good weather. The second larger boat
is the Single Handed Schooner. I bought good ply for that and cut it
with a Japanese Pull Saw. I find the Pull Saw a bit slower but there
is no risk of destroying an expensive sheet of plywood like there is
with the circular saw. And the kerf is so fine, no wasted wood.

I hope to make good progress this week with the chines and bottom.
The bottom is 3/8 MDO. Harbor Sales had no 9mm goodstuff (I bought
the plywood for a different boat then changed my mind!!! Duh!). I
promise myself that the bottom change will be the only deviation from
plans of any significance. Unlike the Brick.

The Brick is a total deviation from plans. I wanted something that I
could fit in my truck to have whenever I needed it. I wanted self
rescue ability (I have proven that is necessary for me!) so I added
air boxes front and rear. 3/8 bottom but fir marine ply, the cheaper
stuff. My mast is a Tulip Popplar about 18 feet long awaiting its
final shaping. I have the standard Bolger 59 sq. ft. sail for it.

Ok, back to work, I have stems to mount!

Sincerely,
Gene T.
