Encapsulation
How about some of the new roofing paints for the inside.According to the blurb these can be put on wet timber(if necessary) and the paint will breathe to let the water out.Very Fordish choice of colours though.

Just to stir the debate, I live in an extremely dry area, the
schooner had'nt been neer water for 5 months and we went to the
coast. after the bboat had been in the water for the daywe started to
notice fine cracks on a section of the deck made od luan.
most of the boat is not coated in epoxy. on the transom(coatedand
glassed) a swelling started, under the hull 2 bottom runners swelled
so much they pulled away from the boatcracking the glue, tearing the
glassand pulling a screw through the floor of the boat. by the 3rd
day it became obviousthat I will have to grind off most of the
glaased areas below the waterline.
I wont bother reglassing, I'll just use more screws, and place an
extra layer of ply in that area to beef it up .
Given the sailing we got in and the sheer quaantities of fish we
caught, it was all worthwhile .
