Re: TEAL

Dear Richard,

I highly recommend the Teal, but for two adults only. Bolger says
this is an overload, but I didn't have any trouble. The double ended
hull is great because there's no transom to drag. These boats need to
keep the bow out of the water, so you trim her a little down by the
stern.

A agree that a Surf or Windsprint is a better choice. I have no
experience with the Windsprint, but the Surf is one of the best boats
I've ever sailed. It's fast, fast, fast. At the same time, I've
sailed with four adults aboard. It was slower, crowded, and felt
heavy, but she still sailed. Fun boat.

It's also a quick build. I nailed one together in one weekend (I
had built a Teal before). Painting her took a lot longer. So did
finishing the rig. It was fun, though.

So, anyway... That's my 2 cents worth.

Take care,
Pete Reynolds
