A person in this condition is not capable of locating his computer
let alone posting anything. About the most likely action that can be
accomplished is the raising of the hand towards the mouth and making
swallowing sounds. Hopefully the hand contains the necessary antidote
to gain eventual release from this state of purgatory.

At least that has been my experience. Perhaps Bruce, you were able to
still function otherwise?

Oh yeah, there may be a kicking response reaction that occurs too,
come to think of it. And all the birds quit singing to be replaced
only by the scratching of the dog trying to get out the door:-(

Well, SPAM is also an issue. I'd thing that "delete
it as you see it and don't talk about it" could be a
reasonable policy. A way to flag it as "deleted as
spam" might help managing the archives. Many like to
put in their complaints about a given spam and in the
process just show it to everybody else over and over.

Without a plan, spam could get bad real quick.

BTW, what's a wiki? Sounds like a Warram design.

And how does one prime one? Carefully!

I was afraid to ask, I thought it might get me banned.

Bruce Hector
Never afraid to raise a stiki subject.
But old enuffi to know better.

Oh, good.

As previously admitted, I'm a computer Klutz.

Because I was also scared that I might easily delete tons of stuff. I
still havenit been able to add a boat enty or picture.

Not even a little Yellow Leaf.

Bruce Hector
Boatbuilding klutz too. But at least they've all floated, after a
fashion.

Actually, no -- "years of entries" wouldn't be wiped out if deleted.
The next person to edit the entry can just restore it just as easily,
as past versions are kept in version control. Things deleted by
malice tend not to stay deleted.

Another concern, as if we need one, is accidental or intentional
deletion.

If I can get in and add, edit, change stuff, so can anyone. A kid or
more malicious individual could wipe out years of entries.

Or a MAD Bolgerista, who made one too many gaping wide seams
beyond "epoxy range" on his/her beloved project.

(Seriously, I worry about Peter Lenihan, sniffing strange fumes till
all hours in his darkened lair, quaffing various home brews til his
vision sttraightens out, injecting thixotropics and sundry fruit,
peering intently at poorly lit Bolger plans and building keys, and
that's just at work on the graveyard shift ...)

If he's not MAD, maybe I'M THE CRAZZZZZYYYYY ONE!

Please start a Bolger Wiki Derek.
Thanks Tom

There are a lot of 'Bolger related' websites out there which are still on
the web, but which haven't seen their content updated in literally years.
Overnight disappearance seems to be less of a worry than it might be.

There are some great 'list of...' type sites out there which haven't seen
updates in a long long time either, as their administrators get bogged down
in 'real life'. A Wiki, where the links pages can be kept up-to-date by
anyone with a spare wet weekend, might be a great answer to the problems of
keeping content current.

There's a great deal of content available on webpages and Yahoo, and
[especially on Yahoo] it can be difficult or impossible to find. A Wiki
might be a useful jumping off point for people searching - pointing to
existing information where it exists, and filling in the holes where no
current site can be linked.

cheers
Derek
I really hope people will not be to scared to try. I know its
different but it really is pretty simple. for those of you still a
little scared to jump in and give it a try...

You can go to the pagehttp://bolger.ohern.net/index.php/SandBoxand
experiment with out fear of anything going horibbly wrong.

Bruce, to start a new line just put an extra return line between our
names. Check out the page again, you'll see what I did.
http://bolger.ohern.net/index.php/BolgerFans

To make a new page, take two or more capitalized words (we'll use
Bruce Hector) and squish them together, BruceHector. When you save
the page you are editing you will now see the word BruceHector with a
question mark after it. Click the question mark to start making the
new page.

It might sound harder than it is. and remember, this isn't html, its
much more simple than that.

Also, the system keeps track of all the changes that are made to each
page so if something does go horriblely wrong I'll notice and it will
get fixed.

Some other cool features:

http://bolger.ohern.net/index.php/RecentChanges
This page shows you all the changes to the site over the last few
days, great way to see the other projects people have been working on.

http://bolger.ohern.net/index.php/TextFormattingRules
For those who want to dive in to the simple mark up language is is all
detailed here.

Thanks everyone,
Tom
