Dear Hugo,
Soaking up fortifide red wine, the way Big Bad Bruce and I do, is
a dying art and one which requires considerable years of
training.However,if you are experiencing"unpleasant" post-binge
effects or"that nasty red wine head" then I am compelled to conclude
that you aren't paying enough for your juice! The really good stuff
should never, and I mean NEVER,leave you yelping fer yer mother nor
begging for tender mercies......

Still have film to go in the camera before another roll gets
developed.Perhaps another week or two at the most. The launching
date,to date,is pretty much fixed.That is,launch day will happen
when she is finished:-) Seriously,Hugo....I have not the discipline
nor the skill of your Dad to ever provide a launch date much before
a week or two before she is actually ready.

Bunny-R may well hit the water before Windermere...unless I
fall in love all over again and give it an all out push.........

Still all warm and summery down your way? Regards to your Dad,a fine
example and inspiration for the rest of us clowns!

Sincerely,
Peter Lenihan

I hope to see more pictures soon on "Windermere's" progress! Is there a scheduled launching date----- give or take a few months?

Hugo Tyson, Launceston, Tasmania, Australia.

P.S. My father has just finished drawing up the plans for a Bolger designed 28' Lobsterboat("Bunny-R") so construction will begin soon. We've got all the timber for the hull etc. The only other major cost will be the engine, so my brother and I will be working hard to save up for this in the next year. Hopefully she'll take about ayear to 18 months to complete!

Nels,
I am amazed and amused that some of this stuff is remembered at
all! I suppose those must be from my PP days( PRE-PORTO) when I was
wallowing through my BS phase (BEER SIPHONING).It makes me look
forward, with glee, to the happy day Windermere gets launched and I
can finally begin my CACA period(CRANKING my ASS for some CANADIAN
ALCOHOL) which should go very smoothly indeed considering the pasha
like comforts afforded on board Windermere.
Had a couple of thieves, liars and drunks over today to visit the
boat and after several enjoyable hours sitting at the dinette with
these dear friends and working my right arm off doing multiple light
lift repititions( how much does a small glass of Porto weigh
anyway?) I suddenly realised that I was seriously lacking in the how-
to-be-a-good-host dept. à la Martha Stewart since I had yet to
escort my guests for viewings of the galley, head compartment and,
later, the master slothroom...I mean stateroom ! I'm trying
desperately hard to adjust to the luxury of so much space and become
faint when contemplating post-launch exploits on board.Thankfully,a
goodly bottle of medicinal sherry,to dispell the vapours, is never
far from my out-stretched arm(s) as I shimmy over on my knee(s)
thanking God(s) various for giving me the foresight and memory(s) of
where the hell I stored the bottle(s) of medicine last time.
I never thought boatbuilding could be so much fun!

How many more months left before the ice is clear from the lakes and
rivers again?

Sincerely,

Peter Lenihan, twiddling his thumb(s) at the nuthouse..........
I'm pretty sure that the use of "wisdom" and "Lenihan" in the same
sentence is an oxymoron.

Kinda' like using "Bruce" and "brains" together is far more than just
poor aliteration, at least north of the 40th. parallel. Eh!

Le Mouton Noir de Kingston,

Feeling strangely smug and more intelligent in the sunny south ...
must be the weaker beer kicking in.

Ah Smithwicks, my kingdon for a Smithwicks!

Are you done yet? <g>
Where are the photos?
Have you had and talk/writing with PB&F
about BW2 which you might like to share?

Ah yes David (Or is it Marilyn?)

Good reminders, as some of what you mention should be restricted for
usage by newbies, until they fully understand the unspoken code of
secrecy of Bolgeristas.

For example the Lenihan waste disposal system? Let's just say it
involves the waste being in plastic bags, a large sling shot and
passing jetskiers? For each direct hit you get to mount a small decal
of a jetski on the bow of your ship like the fighter pilots of old.

Then if the authorities arrive to inspect your waste disposal system
you show them the little plastic bag filled with chocolate pudding
that is taped to your abdomen. That ends any further inspection right
there.

Not quite - only to Saskatchewan - which is like Alaska without the
mountains and trees and water. And of course Alaska has a more
moderate climat:-)

I think that is an excellent idea. 20 knots is doable with a salvaged
Hobie 16. And you are not even getting any spray onboard!

BW2 has got to be my favorite design for versatility and fun.

Cheers, Nels
