Angle Grinders

As you know, some homebuilders are adept with angle grinders which is
an art as much as a skill.

Peter Lenihan uses his a lot and he is a Dewalt user. I just noticed
there is one sale at this location. This is relevant to Canadian
Bolgeristas as the price is almost down to what Americans might pay;-)

An angle grinder is invaluable for knocking the bigger epoxy blobs
and other rough spots as well as creating the "hollow" in solid
frames before attaching them to to plywood. This is the basis of
the "Lenihan hollowed non-squeeze-out epoxy joint" - when the solid
wood component is jointed to the ply surface, the epoxy becomes
sealed into the hollowed area rather than getting squeezed out as
occurs when joining two perfectly flat surfaces.

The grinder can also be used when butt scarfing using the Payson butt
scarf:-)

I also have a 7.5 volt cordless Makita model that I have used for
over 10 years. It is very light and portable and can be used one
handed with good control. But even it can "get away" on you if you
are not careful. For sanding though a good random orbital sander is
my choice.

Nice Valentines gift suggestions for the one you love most. Just
remember to get your wife something as well:-)

Cheers, Nels
