I've used polypro on a couple boats and don't use it anymore. The problem
with it is in sanding. Instead of turning to dust, like glass, it shreds,
kind of like sanding a margarine tub. I was convinced by the Defender
catalog that it would hold ply together better than glass in the event of a
collision. When our Wharram cat made of 3/8" marine fir ply covered with a
layer of 6 oz poly was rammed by a Piver tri, the ama bow punched right
through the skin. I think glass is just as good, and easier to work.
