Re: Oink Mainsail up
I can't get the smell of mangroves out of my nostrils Graeme, even in
the shower. After clearing out a bit of a 'harbour', looking over my
shoulder for the mangrove police, and splattering myself and Oink with
ooze.
The angle as you say, I had a nightmare last night, that I missed the
tide coming back in, and had 12 hours on the angle without pillow,
beer or book.
Hope you got the otter scans ok.

Gee, Oink is looking good Don.
I can assure you from personal experience that the odd collision
with mangroves and mud/sand banks won't do a Micro much harm! Even
misjudging where you'll hang at anchor and being left by the tide
resting on her chine will hardly mark the paint, though that extreme
angle wrecks a sleep-in not to mention necks 'n backs!
Love the finish and the forefoot. I'd add the Navigator conversion
to mine but she is of uncertain build, and old. I have to start
considering the Viking option.

Don't worry Nels, I was backing up the narrow creek under oars, for a
quick retreat!
Seriously though, the guy who first said that the amount of pleasure

I rigged the main on the mooring today, and stepped the mizzen.
Everything has been taking 3x the time I expected. Had to lift out the
mast twice, first time when a halyard end slowly soared to the
masthead, then again when entanglements between sheetlets were too
high to reach. But stepping and unstepping is getting easier each time.
Had hoped to go for a sail, but tide waits for no man, so took a
couple of photos, and then gave the Elegant Punt a much needed workout
up a local creek, at the top of which is the Hippo pond in the
Auckland Zoo.
