SE Messabout May 13-15, 2005 (reminder)
Max's reminder for the MW messabout prompts me to repost this announcement.
I'm hosting the third irregular Southeast Messabout starting Friday May 13
through Sunday May 15 at Sweetwater Campground on
Lake Allatoona near Canton, GA (about 30 miles NW of Atlanta).
I have reserved site 44 and this will serve as the base of operations. The
two waterfront sites adjacent to mine have also been taken by fellow
messers. The remainder of the waterfront sites will fill pretty quickly as
the weather improves and people start thinking about boating again. So don't
wait too long to get yours. But with our three site hub, it isn't absolutely
necessary to take a waterfront site if you can't find one available.
http://www.reserveamerica.com/jsp/commonpage.jsp?goto=/nrrs/ga/swee/newindex
.html for reservations. (Mind the wrap on the link!)
Sweetwater Campground is located on one of the best spots on the lake for
sailing. This time of year usually has pretty good winds. It's also a bit
too early in the season for the lake to be polluted with our normal crop of
summer weekend hullaballoos.
There also hotels nearby for the non-campers. Search for hotels in "Canton,
GA" for rates.
Saturday night we'll have a cooperative group supper. Otherwise there is no
schedule or organized events.
We've already got an good number of people committed to come.
So come one and all, and plan on having a good time. It isn't even necessary
for you to have a boat. There will be ample opportunity for the boatless to
get on the water, too. I hope to see many of you there.
