Who has just discovered that the 2 inch long 1/4" bolts he bought to
fasten Wing-Nut are 1/8" too short. And that's before adding the two
flat washers and a lock nut.

Arrggghhhh! Back to the hardware store.
I'm not sure about "Yahoo's overtype feature," but often one hits the
<insert> key (to the right of <backspace>) which toggles between insert and
overtype modes in many editors.
