representatives (Bostiks)he gave some very useful advice.
He thinks from the website description of Titebond II that it is a modified
PVA glue. There is now a second generation of glues that are called
"EVA's". The Bostik product he recomended in this type is "Bostik 33LV"
(sometimes marketed in consumer size packs as "Cling-on. The price of this
glue is NZ$40 for 5 litres (about US$20 per 1.3 us gallons).
This rep has worked extensively with the boat building industry and although
the particular product has not been tested or certified for marine use his
recomendation is good.
He thinks the EVA's have signifigant benefits over modified PVA's including:
- Better water resistance
- Higher level of solids = better gap filling
- Greater flexibilty = greater capacity to absorb shrink/expand cycles of
wet/dry wood.

There is a whole different level of fit required how ever. That kind of
joinery was easy for the pro's of his generation, as an amateur, I do not
find it so easy. Also lots and lots of clamps needed. I personally use
either epoxy or the new polyurethane's.
