Re: [bolger] Glues for boat construction

I am very new to building but would contribute my limited experience
I have had so far. I really think it is a great idea and would
benefit builders. (a geographical info section on glues would be good
also: someone mentioned not useing Weldwood in Florida because of the
humidity. I have had the same mixed results with it myself when humid
out)
Go for it!

Roger,
a very helpful, constructive and selfless thing to do.
A lot of people could contribute and benefit.
Such a list for Ply would also be good.
I would be happy to
contribute what i can representing NZ/Australia
(although note there's not a lot of commerce BETWEEN the two.
i mean they really need to be separated)
Thumbs up,

Subject: [bolger] Glues for boat construction

Questions are always being asked about the suitability of this glue or that.
Matters are complicated by the changes of product name from country to
country. I might put together a web page with a schedule of glues by
country and generic type. For example countries might be grouped as
follows:- Australia/New Zealand, Britain, Europe, USA/Canada and glues
provisionally into the generic types:- Epoxy, Resorcinol, Formaldehyde-Urea,
Polyurethane, EVA. Any interest and/or constructive comment?

Thanks for the comment. I lumped Australia and New Zealand together because
of the free trade agreement and because I suspect that most of the products
will be common. So far there has not been much interest.

Roger.
