Re: Duck egg shell green

Try Googling duck green eggshell paint - Duck green is a colour and
eggshell is a finish.
I hope its a Canadianism as whatever colour we eventually decide to paint our Bolger Lobsterboat it will be gloss. We would really like to paint her a dark colour, such as Royal Blue , Black or even a very deep gloss green, but due to our strong sunlight during summer this might not be a good idea as the plank seams may start to open up a bit and look pretty bad. Of course if we sheathed her hull with Dynel or fibreglass this wouldn't be a problem, but it'd be a nasty job to do as the boat is being built right-way up and the thought of turning her upside down to fibreglass her hull is a daunting prospect! I suppose you could sheathe her right way up but I don't know how good a job it would be given the nature of gravity on the fibreglass cloth. I imagine it would require a lot of fairing afterwards! ??

Or is that just another Canadianism?

Bluey-greeny grey colour? Why didn't you say so! :-)

Sounds like you and your Dad are in need of some fine expert
coaching from Le Baron de Kingston. In fact, I am certain that a
couple of weeks spent at the Hector Emporium for Living Life or
H.E.L.L., gracefully situated along the sumptuous shores of Lake
Ontario and but a few hours drive to some of Canadas' finest holes-n-
dives will soon have the two of you back fit as a fiddle and with a
renewed youthful balance in your lives.
Not wishing to tease you too much, here are but a few of the seminars
you'll get to experience while in H.E.L.L.,

"Beer,Wine,Booze and After-shave,an exploration in their histories
and tutoral in palette developement."

"Is It Possible To Not Drink Enough? an eye-opening conference with
special invited guest Dr. Louis St.Marie Ipeenightly, reknowned anti-
teetotaler and hydralic engineer who will help you discover your own
optimum fluid uptake and the ideal sources for hydralic fluids,"

"Hops,Hope and Whores, the elusive triumverate and how to manage it
in this fast paced ever changing world. Our most popular seminar and
back yet again this year due to heavy demand."

There are several more juicy ones Hugo, but you'll have to write to
Le Baron de Kingston and request their brochure from H.E.L.L. for
all the details.Tell 'em Peter sent ya!

The fees are all inclusive. All you have to take care of is your own
international travel arrangements.

As of last year, I know their brochure was showing prices ranging
from $980-$1650 per week, per person depending on the various options
one may choose to add to the basic program. Mind you these prices
are a year old now and in Canadian dollars with registered cheques
or internaional money orders payable to either H.E.L.L. or their
parent company P.I.S.S Ltd.(Peter Is Staying Sober).

At any rate, the point is to stay healthy, have some fun and enjoy
living. With winter just around the corner for you guys, I guess it
may be best to remain safely indoors and build boats.

All the best and no heavy lifting Hugo!

Sincerely,

Peter Lenihan, survivor from H.E.L.L. and proud of it,from along the
shores of the mighty fast flowing St.Lawrence.............
Kinda' like the "organic zebra puke green" the Royal Navy used on the
bottom of their WW2 carrier aircraft?

Bruce Hector
Certain that Monsieur Lenihan may be just a tad more than "familiar"
with such a colour.
No ,Peter,
......not chicken egg shell green, they are usually white, sometimes a bit discoloured to say the least; if they're free range.
Plover egg green , a bird here on the coast. Its eggs are a delicate light bluey-greeny grey colour!!!!!!!!!!!!

Dad shouldn't get out too much, he'd drink too much and be unable to build boats,.....Mum wouldn't like it much anyway if he spent his nights out on the tiles!!!!!!!!

If I spent too many nights out, I'd get too drunk to work, so couldn't fianance any boats!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Non-stop boat building???, my poor father is not going as quick as my brother and I would like!!! We want this one (The "Bunny-R") finished by this coming New Year(very unlikely!) so we can get onto the next project: "Silver Blaze" a custom Bolger designed "Torpedo Stern" 26' x 6'6 " runabout based apon the "Snow Leopard" Model plans in "BWAOM"!!!------If Bolger ever finishes this design for me, its over 2 years since I commissioned him to do it!!!!

I've just written Phil a letter asking about the progress of the "Silver Blaze" design, so I'll report on it's progress when I get a reply!!(Hopefully within the next month!!)

Hugo,

You and your Dad should get out more often :-D Seriously, what's
with all this none stop building anyway...don't you folks like boating?
By the way,I checked out the pictures and scans..very nice.
However,I noticed that the coloured drawing describes the hull as
being painted "eggshell green". I don't know Hugo, but I think there's
something wrong with your chickens if their eggs is green :-D

Oatmeal and prunes for breakies with a large cold draft......hmmmmm
for champions only!

All the best!

Hi everybody,Bolgerristas and Bolgersenoritas??!!,

My father(Bruce Tyson) has been a bit busy lately, he's had "Merlin"-
("Marina Cruiser")-----though I do belive Phil Bolger now calls this
design "Merlin" as aparantly only dad has built this fine boat)) ,on
the slip,re-furbishing her. .....But he's still had some time to work
on the next project.... the "Bunny-R" Glouster (f..k? is this the
right spelling?)Lobsterboat.(28' x10').

He's finished all the molds, glued up(Laminated) all the major pieces
for thee backbone(They have still to be glued(Epoxied) and bolted
together to form the complete spine of the boat).

Today he has nearly finished the frame for the Transom.

I've posted some pics of the latest progress in Bolger4 files section
in thee folder "Tyson's latest project- a "Bunny-R" Lobsterboat.

I've just suffered a mild injury at work, namely a Hernia. so I've
got a bit of spare time coming up until I get to hospital to get it
repaired.

As I'm on full-time pay till this happens and until I'm fit again to
do some hard and heavy work ,I reckon I'll be down in Port Sorell
helping my father build this beautiful and practical craft!!!

Hugo Tyson, 1 / 9 Belmont Court,Launceston,Tasmania, Australia. 7248.

P.S. Excuse my language, I've had a few wines, no, not ,port/porto(as
Peter Lenihan calls it)

P.P.S ---- this probably reads pretty badly, even now, re-reading it,
there's some bad errors in general english, grammar, etc... excuse me
please, I've probably had a bit( alot) too much too drink.

That's because everythings fine as this wonderful boat has been
started at last???Q!!!FCVJM<NH>L

Regards to everyone,
