Photo's of John Bartlett's stretched Bantam, named "Pelican", are in

I spent a nice day on it last winter with John, stable, quick,
economical with just a 9.9. At that time the stretch was all deck, but
I think he was working on extending the cabin over the last year.

of the article you remember. I recall that article, but
what I remember was that the biggest significant change
was that the depth of the pontoons was increased about
eight inches. [Raising the cabin and the tunnels between
the pontoons higher above the chop making for more
load capacity for the boat.] Bantam certainly is another
amazing Bolger design, and now that I think about it now
I realize that I want one too!
