[bolger] Re: missing rower in Atlantic
Unsinkable maybe, but how about unsmashable?
I look at the U.S. Navy wave model for the Atlantic on almost a daily
basis the the wave predictions for where and when he was when he went
missing were some of the most savage conditions I've seen in 5 years
of looking.
Much said regarding Dr. Belic's "irresponsibility" and the trouble he
caused everyone. I won't say anything about that, but I will say no
one's got their panties in a bunch about the way people drive on the
LIE, and I'm sure that causes a lot more misery.

Alas, in this morning's Boston Globe, a front page announcement was made of the
Irish Coast Guard's finding the boat, capsized and empty, with no sign of Dr. Belic.
Sadly,

Alas, he hasn't been found, nor has the boat. I've been keeping an eye one the
wires, as Dr. Belic left from the same pond in Chatham, Mass., where I keep
three Bolger boats, and his rowboat is the subject of chapter 13 in BWAOM. It
is a mystery; that boat, called the "Lun," looks as close to unsinkable as a boat
can be.

I may have missed something, but did anyone ever hear what happened to that
rower reported missing off of Ireland in a Bolger boat, a month or more ago?
Did he ever turn up?

Check out June Bug

List,
I just added 4 pics of my JuneBug in the "Modified June Bug" folder.
http://www.egroups.com/files/bolger/modified+June+Bug/
These are pictures taken at the lake in The Woodlands, Texas. Sail is by
Jim Michalak and was made for a Pickup Pram. Sail rigging and rudder are
modified to make the sail shape better. John Bell provided a drawing of an
adjustable parrel and downhaul. These mods were included AFTER these
pictures were taken.
