I tried it with the plastic version (vs. the steel) strapping tape. The
staple pulled thru the tape but not out of the epoxy/wood. Test on a sample
first!

On my two boats I have used wood screws (Phillips head) to hold things in
place while the epoxy sets up. The next day I can remove the screws with little
problems, but if left two days you can not unscrew the screws, but if you
heat the screws with a slipping driver (or soldering gun) [ I think that is why
I have so many chewed up phillips drivers for my drill motor] they come right
out. So I don't know why an application of a soldering iron or gun would not
allow the staples to come out pretty easy.
