version of MUNDOO III has a box keel added to the bottom to offset the
raised tophamper. It is filled with lead (Batteries), motor and other
plumbing so I expect it is self-righting and seaworthy. A company the
size of Duck Works could not mess around with that kind of thing. They
have also designed a much smaller electric boat that made a return
voyage offshore of 70 nautical miles or so - called GEEHI.
See the current issue of WB for a photo or look in the Duck Works site
as it is for sale.
Apparantely Queen Elizabeth and the Royal Concert, attended the
launching ceremony for NOMAD III. Wonder what kind of beer was served?
"And the launch party? Another great success ...even Her Majesty and

I believe the consortium who designed and build the vessel are making
a point about the environmental responsibility in using solar power.
Perhaps the Royal Yacht Britannia will switch to solar propulsion.
Actually i think it is in mothballs.

But back to NOMAD III does it not look like an appealing version of
Tennessee? I would bet Bolger would approve of the work and sheer
audacity of taking that leap of faith with one of his designs!

"anyone have an opinion as to putting a similar house on a Tennessee
hull?"
suggest that if your thinking about Tennesee level power and
performance, that a Minn' could be built lighter than designed since
Bolger was commissioned to build it for twin 70's, and 40mph! Much
weight could be taken out of Minn if you're gonna mount a single 25hp
motor.
Also, w' regard to top hamper on Tenn'. I think you may have already
seen what some Aussies have done. If not check the link. If you get
out in any kind of weather or big water, your gonna be in trouble,
but these seem to be well used boats, happy in a protected river
environment. But I doubt Bolger approves.
BTW I'm pretty sure the khakhi colored boat on the far right of the
top row is the plans built prototype Tenn. Most of the others are
Aussie variations.

A bit too much top hamper for a Tennie, would be fine on a Minnesota,
which already has a similar layout.

This boat is named Turtle. It is Bolger-like but not one of PB&F's
designs.
Here is a link to several pics of Turtle in different paint. Same
boat.
AFAIK there is only one. I've not heard that plans are available.

Hi, Does anyone have any info on the blue hulled power sharpie shown
on the "Diversity of the Bolger Tennessee" page described "more like
an Idaho"? Is it a Bolger design and if so which one? I have been
planning on building a Tennessee but I've fallen for this photo. Any
help much appreciated.
