provided it fills the void between the inner and
outer skins and does not separate from them
Two layers of any material with reasonable tensile strength (glass fiber,
steel, tin etc) held apart a constant distance is a good structural material.
But beware if the separation is not maintained since if the filler crushes or
does not keep that separation your nice hull turns to flimsies. Don't do as
one the engineers that worked for me did, and design a bracket to support about
500 lbs and then welded it to a beam that could only hold 300 lbs at mid
span.
