trailer brakes here in Australia.
Haven't built craft (or mast yet) but notice the MICRO II plans have
mast stepped at the bow with a few feet extending forward when
lowered. This may reduce the rear overhang.
Other option is to get bigger car (it is really hilly) or build
something with water ballast!

A tabernacle may not be the best option actually as it leaves such a
long length of mast dangling off the stern. The mast balances better
if some of it is forward of the bow. How heavy is your mast?

I would hazard a guess at 2000 lb. for mine but I have a fairly
heavy tandem trailer, so it could be more. How far, how often, how
fast and how many hills do you plan on towing it? One member has
towed his with an older VW Westfalia IIRC.
A tabernacle may not be the best option actually as it leaves such a
long length of mast dangling off the stern. The mast balances better
if some of it is forward of the bow. How heavy is your mast?

Have any MICRO builders out there weighed their MICRO/TRAILER combo
when ready to tow?
Don't know if my present car will tow it when it is all kitted out
ready to launch.
I can't leave it moored, so will need to trailer it every time I need
it. That's why I need to build in a tabernacle also!
when ready to tow?
Don't know if my present car will tow it when it is all kitted out
ready to launch.
I can't leave it moored, so will need to trailer it every time I need
it. That's why I need to build in a tabernacle also!
