My wife refers to such things with a smile as:
"A momument, to her better judgement"

Hey Sam,

I believe there is a Buehler Boat- building group that is quite
active. Maybe see if anyone there needs that little sucker.

Then you can get some pink flamingos for your wife to admire:-)

I have a real small air-cooled Diesel. A couple
of years ago, when I had dreams of building a
passagemaker-syle cruiser, I fell under the influence
of George Buehler, and his love for the indestuctable
old Lister air-cooled marine diesels. I guy a few
miles away had one for sale, complete, 28 hp,
suposedly running when removed from vessel. I bought
it.
I never built--will never build--the boat it was
intended for. It is sitting now, sqatting on a pallet
under a green tarp, in my backyard, under a tree with
a limb sturdy enough to take the chain hoist I needed
to get it off the truck. It really is a small
diesel--no bigger, say, than a living-room recliner,
smaller for sure than a Jersey milk cow. I doubt if
it weighs more than four or five grown men. And it is
a real time-saver. Every time I announce a new
enthusiasm, my wife doesn't have to say a word. She
just points at that big, green, hulking lawn ornament

Lewis,

Those look to be the same as what I've seen on eBay. The 10 hp (I've seen it shown as 9,10, and 11hp) with electric start and charging system. Changfa is the brand and they are usually described as "Similar to Yanmar". e-Bay prices usually fall around <$600 including shipping. These all seem to be from mainland China.

Like I've said - very tempting!

Also - Morgan Equipment sells diesel outboards that look like what you had shown before but look to be shaft drive (no belts).

I posted two photos and a small text file in folder
"Air-cooled_diesels" in group Bolger5. The photos were taken yesterday
at an Agriculture and Industrial exhibition (EXPICA) held here in
Managua, Nicaragua. The prices noted do not include the 15% IVA, which
is waived if items are actually purchased at the exhibition. As these
engines are made in Taiwan, others may have seen them around the world.
