can't help too much except to point out that from a sailing ship point
of view, the Pilgrims really picked a bummer of a place. Plymouth is
deep in a shallow water bay that often has strong on-shore winds. The
shallowness of the bay means that the waves get kicked up to a wicked
chop. Plymouth itself really has no natural harbor, and the anchorage
is protected by jetties. The bay is so shallow that sailboats have to
stay in the channel from a couple miles out.
I was only in and out of Siturate once (1968). I remember a very
crowded anchorage.

Ummmm, I find myself contemplating a trip to Marshfield, Mass with my Bolger
Tennesee in tow and wonder if anyone can point out a restaurant with a dock
at one of the nearby towns (Scituate to Plymouth area). The idea would be to
launch, fool around on the water, and then end up at a dock with a restaurant
nearby. Any suggestions welcome and appreciated.
