The boat is plywood. Although it is about the same size as the AS-29,
it's not otherwise very similar. AS-29 is laid out for long-term
living by two people, and Arava looks to me like a coastal cruiser.
Hi Mike
Arava was one possibility Phil and Susanne mentioned to me when we were
originally discussing cruising designs. I don't have my file of letters to
hand here, but IIRC there were a couple of things Phil was now recommending
changes on or unhappy with, including [again IIRC] that the boat needed
changes to the ballast before it would sail well and the rig in general.
Cheers

Hi boat fans -
I am trying to find any information on Arava ~29' leeboard cruiser. I
already have the one-page write-up as per the Bolger3 file.
Is it plywood?
Looks to me like it is a beefy cousing to the AS29. Is there any more
info anywhere?
Thanks.
