As it turns out, I will not be sailing to Ireland, Bermuda, or any
other far off lands.
However, progress continues on the L.S. Margaret Ellen!
Last weekend, I butt-blocked the topsides, then threaded them out of
the house where they were fastened to the bulkheads, transom, and
stem.
Wow, what a sight! A 23 foot hull sitting in my drive way!
I can get 24 foot 2x in the next village over and hope I'll be able
to carve out a couple of relatively defect free chine logs and
gunnels.
I'm also pondering just how to square up the whole thing before I put
the bottom on. Any tips would be appreciated.
Lastly, the are rumors of a chappelle sharpie looking for a good home
out our way. Amazingly, my wife is more excited about it than I am.
If I ever get out east again, I'll take some pics and put them in the
vault.
