Re: [bolger] Italian frustrations...
Here is another version, by t-mail.com:
Courage Pippo, I have remained to the state of the photos that the
year has seen
last, and then, it says the wise man... the beautiful one not to end,
but to extend to the
end!
The boat as the falling in love, first a dream, ended poi, quando
stays
only a boat.
Bye
one I am not to end, but to stretch to the end! The boat is like the
innamoramento, before is a dream, then, when boat is ended remains
only one.
,
ma tendere alla fine!
finita resta solo una barca.

Marco is always great, but Altavista is not that good in
translating (Italian IS difficult). I'd translate as follows:
Keep your chin up, Pippo, I'm still in the same condition as in the
pictures you saw last year, and then, as the sage says,... the nice
thing is not reaching the end, but tending to the end. The boat is
like falling in love: at the beginning it's a dream, then, when it's
done, it's just a boat.
Thanks, Marco, even if I must say that I want to sail!
Best, Pippo

That is one good thing about living in England.... Sun?? What's that?

Watch out for UV degradation! Even through polytarp, the sun will eat that
epoxy up. The best would be to paint the bottom, then store the boat
outside.

Pippo:
Indeed, I can empathize. Four bulkheads of my Caprice are completed, which
I can confirm whenever I stroll through the shop. My workload and travel
have kept me from making further progress this month. On the other hand, my
wife has already passed her teaching exams, and the kids are mostly grown,
with no grandchildren that we know of. I guess I really don't have as good
an excuse, but the unfulfilled feeling is still there. I am planning on
taking a month off later this summer, or fall to concentrate on boat
building.
Good luck, Pippo
