Re: [bolger] (off topic) ANy QBasic programmers on the list?

Larry,

I have only done a little with QBasic but both my children learned it
in school. My father used it (or maybe Quick Basic) but had trouble
getting it for his new PC. I suggested TrueBasic, and he has informed
me that he upgraded from TrueBasic Bronze to TrueBasic Silver.

I made my living for a decade or more programming in the "xBase"
family of languages which are quite similar. We also had a lot of fun
programming my old Commodore 64 in Basic. (The best I ever did was
probably a program for doing Double Acrostic puzzles.)

So, if I can help in any way, let me know. You can find my personal e-
mail address on my web sitehttp://members.xoom.com/vandep.

By the way, my current project is to gain some fluency in Java, which
is certainly more of a challenge, but which is machine and operating
system independent.

Hi all,

I was just wondering if any of you write "QBasic" code as i am teaching
myself to write QBasic using Microsoft's "Running MS-DOS QBasic" by Michael
Halvorson & David Rygmyr.
I am finding it quite interesting to be able to make my PC do things with a
program i've written.
If anyone would like to correspond with me about QBasic email me at
<HenryClann@...>

Larry Henry (Ex-COBOL-Coder)
