Auger bits...

Hmmm.... I dunno about an auger, but I've had good luck in the
past with a Yankee driver. Saw one on the shelf the other day in the hardware
store - for those unfamiliar with it, it's basically a screwdriver with a handle
that moves inward...that
you push on -- can be set up to screw in or out...darn. This is
harder to explain then I thought.Look here,http://www.thebestthings.com/graphics/mi0045.jpg

maybe that will help.

Anyway, with the advent of cordless drills, they pretty much went bye-bye. Stanley
still sells one (of course, in EnnZed, I
don't know.) Let me know, I'll get you the model number (or
if you get really stuck, we can work something out.)

Other techniques that might work....it yout don't care about
the screw, drill a hole with a titanium-type drill bit down as far as you can
into the screw... a lot of times that will take the outward pressure off the
walls and make it easier to get
out. Then retrieve with an easy-out.

Anyway, good luck!
