that some of them would make it already in version 2.0, but then it
was delayed to the next release.
Right now you can search for Design name, Designer, min. and max
Design Length, Beam, Draft (in m and ft).
Means e.g. you enter "Bolger" as Designer and "max. 15 ft" and it will
return all Bolger Designs that are max. 15 ft long (of course only if
there is a file for it). The script can't do "OR" searches, but I
think this is rarely needed.
You will be soon able to get the results sorted (i.e. the modified
script is nearly finished, just needs some testing).
For the next release there might be issues like
- kind of propulsion
- empty weight (for trailering)
- min. draft
- kind of hull (round or number of chines)
- hull material
- ...
We are considering also at some time to include thumbnails in the
file, so that you would get an impression of the design, before you
even download and open the file.
You see, there are lots of ideas. We'll see how fast Martijn can
implement them. BTW: if somebody wants to contribute ... Martijn could
use some help with proof reading the manual that comes with each
release, including inserting hyperlinks in that document..... Required
skills: English language and Acrobat.
Does this answer your question?
Cheers,

Thanks for the update. Was trying to use the design surch and was
woundering how much info you need to get designs back?

"Happy to announce ... FREE!ship Version 2.00"
(sorry for cross posting, but once in a while - like for this mile stone
release - I'd like to make sure that all potentially interested boaters get
the news)
Homepage:
http://freeship.sourceforge.netorhttp://www.freeship.org
FREE Download from:
https://sourceforge.net/project/showfiles.php?group_id=140466
New:
- lots of new features (see below)
- a searchable database of free designs athttp://freeship.sourceforge.net
(people willing to share their files pls. mail them todesigns@...)
- a tutorial will be out in a couple of days
(I have to make some changes for the new features)
Also, people who know that there are .hul files of their designs available
at some site in the Web (I have quite a collection), and who agree that
those files get converted to FREE!ship and hosted on that site, of course
with them duly specified as the designer, pls. inform me and/or Martijn,
the programmer of FREE!ship, so that we can fill that database - or just
mail whatever you've got to me and/or Martijn.
Have Fun!
