[bolger] Re: martha jane
I had the privilege of sailing on a MJ last summer. The boat is as
advertised and more. It is the easiest boat to launch and retrieve I
have been around. It is fast to set up and easy to put away.
The main impression I had was one of speed and stability. The boat was
showing 6 knots to windward (about 50 degrees off the wind) in a
12-knot breeze! The helm is light and responsive. In all, a delightful
boat to sail.

Hi everyone,
Is there any place on the net to look at a finished MJ.

John:
I have long admired the Martha Jane, but have not built her. I have,
however, just run across an account of one in the making:
http://www.alaska.net/~mzeiger/Boat_Building.htmlIt looks like they are
off to a good start.

Hi everyone. Last winter I built a Bolger Gypsy and am very pleased
with it. However, my current spouse would like room enought to sail
with another couple and I would like to do a little weekend crusing. I
am considering a Chebacco and have read every one of the excellent
Chebacco NewsLetters. I have also read with great interest 'Boats with
an Open Mind' and also am interested in the 'Martha Jane' design. That
is about the maximum size that I could construct in my garage. Has
anyone out there had any experience with this design? Building,
sailing, impressions etc? Opinions appreciated.
