Trolling motor for Micro: some results
Trolling motor on Micro Part II
I now have a little experience with 2 twelve volt trolling motors on my 1991 era Micro.
To review: I have a source of used power wheelchair batteries group sizes U1, 22NF and
group 24.
My experience is only with Minn Kota machines to this point.
First trial:
Micro and 16# thrust Model 35 Minn Kota of undetermined age and very used condition.
No wind, flat water. Top troller speed setting got me 2.5 miles per hour.
Second trial:
Micro and 50# thrust Model 50 Endura by Minn Kota that was brand new. Same conditions.
Top troller speed netted me 3.6 mph.
I did not even do the recharging while underway with the Honda generator because of the
results.
So, I am sticking with my 3 hp Evinrude for now. It gets me 5.5 to 6 mph. Just my speed.
Anybody wanting a very slightly used Endura 50 can look for it on the Washington DC
Craig's List.
