A craft store or hobby store will offer up all sorts of plywood. That's what
it's for. I've built several models of a boat I'm designing myself, for
future building. It comes in all sort of thickness, and it's a little spendy,
but there isn't any substitute for a fine, smooth finished birch plywood for
craftwork. It makes up for price in workability, finish, and availability.

Wander on down to Hobby Lobby, Michaels, or your local toy store that sells
model, RC craft, etc., and take a look.
