"Strand board"? Hmmmmm......sounds like what we call beaver vomit
around here. And that other stuff,MDF(medium density fiberboard) we
like to call that beaver diarrhea.Either way,it's all crap and no
amount of epoxy can save it!
The last bundle of MDO plywood I ordered came wrapped with excellent
luan panels to protect the MDO.Really nice pattern making stock:-)

the hell we ever went there in the first place.............

the stuff they sell at Home Depot and Lowes is truly crap anymore,
You just have to know what to ask for. I tried both and found no one knew
what ACX meant I asked for "Exterior Ply" and was informed that they don't have
any exterior ply since their plywood is kept inside the store.
So had to order real marine grade stuff at much higher cost, but the scrap
they used to guard the bundle was better than the best stuff at the home
centers.
It seems at least locally here they are using some kind of "strand board"
(Looks like a really coarse particle board made of big chips.) for exterior
sheath on walls and roofs rather than the old standby of ACX ply.
