No, the problem is with the 4 speed automatic. In the early 90s,
short wheel base Chrysler's had an older 3 speed auto. The
"Grand" (long wheelbase) versions got a new (at the time) 4 speed.
The 4 speed offered better performance and economy but the 3
speed was much more durable.

From what I've heard, they have not fixed the problems with this
transmission yet. I've been lucky, I've only had one rebuild so far.

Other than the transmission issue, I don't have a problem with
using a Caravan to tow a light boat. I have a Sea Pearl 21. I have
no handling problems, no problem at the ramp, etc. A Micro
weighs a lot more than a SP however.
