A great time was had...

OK, I have to gush here. This is an public thank you to Phil for
designing a great little boat, the CSD Pirogue. On Sat. I had a
terrific five hour sail in mine. It is mostly stock with a pivoting
leeboard and rudder, stock sail and a tiller rope running completely
around the cockpit. You can sit anywhere and steer. The mast is
just
a 2"X 2" with a closet pole for a sprit yard. The wind was blowing
like stink from the west on the Napa river...actually just an estuary
that runs north and south. I headed upstream against the tide. The
boat flew! I was having a blast, water squirting up through the
leeboard bracket. I made about seven miles each way and never tacked
once. No pictures...when you sail solo you run out of hands. Also,
I
have two sunburnt triangles on my back that I couldn't reach with the
sunblock!! The boat flew across the chop in the wide spots and my
kayak paddle is more than enough to get around the ramp. BTW...I got
the ideas for my mods from various web sites and they have all been
good ones. I can't wait to hit the water again!

Bink.
