Re: [bolger] Re: Flip of my Topaz Spyder

Oops, I just looked at those photos, and the image contrast makes them
hard to see:

Shows a 'fixed up' version of one of the images, where you can
actually see things.

I know it is hardly fair to tell you all this, and not provide photos,
but is life fair?

I flipped my 31ft Topaz Spyder on Sunday, and have started to install
bulkheads on the right-side-up hull. The glassing and shaping and
filling and sanding (and filling and sanding) and priming and sanding
(did I say sanding?) and Interlux Brightsides painting of the bottom
has resulted a *really nice* looking cutwater. And, wow, this boat is
a big'un.

By the way, I really like Interlux Brightsides paint.

Another thing I am happy with... I bought an el cheapo laser level at
Costco, and used it to layout the 'waterline stripe' and found it to
be very helpful in casting the top and bottom edges of a true and
level waterline on the twisting surface of the cutwater. [A true
waterline stripe, projected on a twisting surface, actually has a
tapering width.]

I also just bought a used 2000 Honda 90hp four stroke motor, delivery due soon.

Warning to all, the Interlux primer is incompatable with the West
Marine bottom paint that I used, resulting in several wasted days of
[scrape it off, redo, repeat] of the bottom paint.

Photos coming mañana. I have LAN problems with my router to the shop,
otherwise I would point you to the webcam.
