Re: [bolger] Re: Robb White died May 16

I think Bailey White is his sister, also a fine
writer, similar to Robb, but gentler. "Mama makes up
her mind" is one of the funiest collections of short
stories I have read. Sam

I just did a search on bookfinder to see if any copies are out there. Holy Smokes!! I am going to be a lot less casual about lending it out, especialy as its a realy good copy with the endpapers still on. A first printing is going for over 600, takes $150 to get any old copy.

His father was also an author, one of the all time great childrens sailing stories, right up there with any of the Swallows and Amazon series is the "Lions Paw", by Robb White. I must of read it at least 5 times as a child, recently I bought a used copy and read it a couple of times more.

I didn't realize he had published a book
(http://www.amazon.com/gp/reader/1401300278/ref=sib_dp_pt/102-8131950-8796153#reader-link).
I've busted a few guts while reading his articles in MAIB. Bit of a
polymath he was: writer, boatbuilder, man of science. RIP.

Mike
A sad day indeed. I will truly miss his writing.

This is horribly sad. Robb really embodied, and fully lived, what we
Bolgeradoes aspire to: a life surrounded by boats, good boating, and a
can-do attitude toward everything in life. I loved his rants and
musings in MAIB, and was hoping to read them for another 20 years. We
can take solace in knowing he probably had more good days on the water
than any ten of us combined.

I never met Robb, but through his writing and wisdom about all
things "boating" he became important in my life. A few days ago he
