Boom (mast) Gallow/Traveller System

I am wondering if anyone has looked into building a traveller system
onto a boom gallow. A built-in boom gallow is quite common,
especially among cat boats (which have a long boom to worry about),
but I haven't seen any Chebacco's built with a boom gallow, let
alone putting the traveller on the gallow. The Compac Eclipse is an
example:

I am thinking about a boom gallow just forward of the mizzen mast,
with a height about level with the cabin. The traveller track can be
built onto the gallow beam.

Such a design has several advantages:
- A built-in bracket for holding up the mast, very handy if the mast
is hinged (The gallow will be too far aft for holding up the boom).
- Keeps the traveller blocks & lines etc. well clear of the cockpit,
help to keep it tidy and less things to run into.
- A built-in bracket for the aft-end of a boom tent.

It will need to be of suitable strength since it will be about 20"
above the rear deck. It probably can be attached to the mizzen mast
to add strength. It will also alter the asthetics of the boat, so it
would not be for everybody. But at least an idea worth looking into?

Ben
That's an interesting idea. I'm struggling with configuring a method for
storing the spars for trailering, which may fall into the same sort of
thing. I've dickered around with something along those lines in wood, but
it never seemd to work. I'm wondering if a tubular steel gallows would be
asthetically more suitable. Now I'm thinking...
