I have seen some pretty nice SYP ply. As Phillip states, the 1/4" has
2/3rds of the grain going the same way. This should provide more strength
in the direction needed, and grade AB can be found with essentially no knots
in the outside veneers. I think it is a good idea. Glass on the outside
would not hurt either.

I think the glass tape is a very good idea, but I'm not so sure about the
SYP plywood--it's usually not of the finest kind.

I have resolved that I will not go sailing till I've finished my Micro.. This
will make me finish it quicker!!

On my Junebug, I ended up sheathing the lower 2/3's of my leeboard with
lightweight fiberglass. My problem was checking of the Doug Fir plywood, but it
also stiffened up the board considerably.
