Re: [bolger] adapting a trailer to carry Junebug

Thank you for the ideas, Patrick. I'm building something similar this
very moment, using a 2 by 6 instead of a 4 by 4. I'lll upload pictures
once the project is done.

Thank you, Mark. That reference was just the ticket. I'm building a
bunk running from side to side as Jim Michalak suggests. It took me a
bit to figure out how to clamp the bunk securely to the trailer, but
eventually it dawned on me. I'll upload pictures of how I've adapted my
trailer to June Bug, soon, once the paint dries.

Thank you for remembering. I changed internet service providers and had
been too lazy to reestablish my web site on my new account. I'll
announce it here when I'm up and running again.

Hey Michael,
do you still have a website with pictures of your June Bug.
The like I have appears to be no longer valid.

I seem to remember your June Bug was especially nice.

For my Windsprint I attached a 4x4 to the trailer tongue about a foot
forward of the standard middle roller (about 4 or 5 feet behind the bow
chock). The 4x4 extends out to the chines of the boat, where it has
carpeted blocks of wood to support the boat an inch or two above the
roller. Coupled with the carpeted blocks at the back of the trailer that
are standard for a small boat trailer (and which are within a couple
inches of the chines), the boat is supported at 4 points at or near the
chines. The rollers are used only when pulling the boat onto the trailer.

[Non-text portions of this message have been removed]
I've built a Bolger Junebug and have it sitting on an old trailer used
for another boat. The rollers running along the centerline of the
trailer are warping the bottom of the hull. I'm looking for a way to
distribute the weight of the boat more evenly.

Seems to me somewhere in the past I've seen an article describing how
to modify a trailer to suit flat bottomed sharpies like many of Phil
Bolger's designs.

Can anyone point me to some ideas on this subject?
