Re: [bolger] Speedrail / watervan hybrid hull form

Hey Todd I went looking for the file in Bolger 4 and
could not find it. Any idea what the file name was?

I took some of the drawings of the Watervan and blew
them up and the box keel is just right for a power cat
hull and then put the fiddler on top of the hulls ;)
OK call me twisted! But it would need to be about 25
to 30 feet long and 12 or so feet wide.

You know it would look a lot like a Star Trek shuttle
when you were done. I will bet one would get all kinds
of looks and questions! It would be fun to do it, just
for that!

Some where there was something said about the bottom
of the Fiddler II bottom flexing the easy fix is to
mold up the bottom in a jig and bag in say 1.5 or 2
inch foam and then bag down a 2nd layer of ply over
the top of the foam.

I was looking at that for useing it up here so the
boat would be a bit warmer do to the insulation of the
foam

It would not be that hard to do. But you would have a
very stiff bottom and side if you did them the same
way. WHen you put the foam core in between the sheets
of ply, you end up with a 360 deg. I-beam. If any of
you would like to know more about how to do that, drop
me a note.

OK some of you may be asking how do I know so much for
a woman... Well I use to build boats and I'm a
shipwrite. A name some of the older people may
remember is Uniflite I worked for them for a few years
when I was not fishing. Also a couple of other boat
shops here in the Northwest. I'm also into designing
and building homebuilt aircraft. Like I said call me
crazy if you like! Oh I also worked for Boeing for a
while as well.

But the last 8 or 10 years I've been working as a
welder and shop lead. If I was not welding I was
building or working on boats for the last 15 years.
Gee time flys when you are having fun next birthday
I'm 50. Funny I don't feel that old. But then again I
don't act it!

Kristine

with the watervan hull form. 12'x 6'x 3' Maybe a quick and simple
