Best price on Chip brushes that I have seen. I have been paying .89
at the local store for the 2" brush. This price .48 in lots of 24
blows the doors of the local hardware store.

There are quick on the delivery also. Now that you are on their list you will
get LOTS of catalogs. You will have to mine it but there are good things.

Tim:

I get 1" hog bristle brushes from Alamo Iron Works for about $.50 each. I
used to be able to get them for $.33. Raka also has 1" brushes for fifty
cents.

Builders Square and Home Depot have a lot of sale priced that you just have
to find. The other day, I got a Ryobi cordless drill with a charger and
extra battery (9.6 volt) for $29.95! I should have bought two or three - it
is a great drill.

Tim,
My local Ace Hardware store carries cheap natural bristle brushes, US$6.00
a dozen for 1/2" wide with a wooden handle. Because of *my* Scottish heritage I
usually wash the brushes in white vinegar, then dish detergent and water,
before the epoxy goes off. They last forever or until I forget to wash 'em,
whichever comes first. Like you, I have not found nylon brushes to be
satisfactory. Also, most foam brushes I've used with epoxy have either started
dissolving or coming apart during a single use. I will occasionally find a
batch that are sturdier that average. I extend the lives of these by squeezing
out the excess epoxy and storing the brush in a plastic bag in the freezer
between uses. I find that if I'm conscientious about their care I can get two
or three sessions out of them before they give up the ghost. I sometimes do the
same with foam roller covers, but the epoxy usually goes off too fast to
salvage them. Vinegar and detergent washing is not very effective on foam.
Yeah, I know, I'm *way* too cheap....

I buy mine by the box from www.jamestowndistributors.com. I used to use the
cheap chip brushes but have since switched to a slightly more expensive chip
brush that doesn't shed at all. They also sell all the sizes of foam
brushes and any kind of hardware you want.

Also, for really cheap, use manila rope cut in ~4 inch lengths.
