[bolger] Why I don't write any more CSD newsletters
Larry,
Thank you for the kind word on the old newsletters. Unfortunately, or I
am sure some would say fortunately, I am not at all motivated to write
any more. While putting together the newsletter was one of the more
enjoyable parts of running CSD, it was also stressful and a lot of
work. As I am no longer financially involved with boats, boating or
Bolger I plan to avoid as much boat related stress as possible. I have
other things in my life now to keep my stress levels high enough. I
think, and look forward to, you all taking my place.

Thanks Pippo. I hope we can get more of these, both Bernie's and
his predecessor's. The more information a person can get about the
design he/she wants to build the better. Seeing how some one else has
built the same design helps to solve any problems or questions one may
have. Unfortunatly, PCB isn't as accessable as some other designers.
Also, he hasn't written about some of his designs. I have plans for
the CSD/CSB Pirogue, and Fishcat, for example, and neither of these
have appeared in his books. It would be helpful to me as a prospective
builder to know what he was thinking when he put together these two
designs. There are probably others who feel the same way; "why did he
design it that way?"

We're all interested Bernie! They WERE "the best". Why don't you keep up a
private "Bolger" Newsletter like Bill Samson's "Chebacco" news and all of can
send in our boatbuilding news to you and you can do an short Monthly or
Bi-Monthly online letter? You always edited the old one quite nicely...

Dear list, I'll post the CSD NL's to the vault tonight (my time).
However, let me make clear that there are just a few of them (less than
10). All the other ones, starting from #1 published by Elrow La Rowe,
were sold by Bernie Wolfard in a bound printed volume, which I do have,
but I'm not going to scan it... To my knowledge, the've never been
publically available in electronic format. I don't know if Jerry Estes
(Common Sense Boats) could still provide the same volume, of if Bernie
Wolfard keeps other electronic copies somewhere. Chuck Merrel has
scanned the first 10 La Rowe's ones and posted them in his Micro site.

hey pippo i,m intrested the csd newsletters i had them all printed out but
misplaced them David
misplaced them David
Pippo,
Thanks, e-mailing them to me would be excellent. If they were zipped
to the vault or posted on your web page they would provide a good
resource for everyone. Whichever way you want to go is fine by me.
Thanks,
Doug

Before Common Sense Designs was replaced by Common Sense Boats, they
published a newsletter, which was archived on their site, and is no
