Great report! I had no idea the Topaz was intended to plane. Sounds like
you need to be careful turning at speed...
I have GOT to get back to my Sweet Caroline project. From your report, I
can just hear the wavelets rapping her flat bottom. Really lost momentum
with the weddings and Nymph building. Oh well, maybe a launching for the
cool fall cruising season. Meanwhile, I'm down to my last four boats (Sea
Kayak, Sunfish, 12 foot plywood Skiff, 18 foot/150 hp Regal Bowrider). Gave
away the little 11 foot glass-over-styrofoam pram/jonboat to a friend on a
small residential lake (he won't be tempted to power it as I was - almost
destroyed it with 6 hp).
