Thanks for the replies! Checking the marinas makes good sense. Fortunately my guidebooks give good info on the marinas. I will call them, but not until I get down there as I don't know where, exactly, I will launch first. Depends on the weather. If it is warm enough in the Panhandle I will explore there first. If it's as cold as it has been I will keep heading south until I find warm weather!
Garth, I will be in my Bantam "Drifter" stretched to 22 feet, with the double bottoms. Photos at Bolger 6. I know this is designed to protected waters, but I have lived aboard on the Gulf before and don't plan on much open water cruising. Only on those perfect days. GICW, the rivers, big and small, are my things.
Chester, is La Belle still the friendly to boaters town it used to be? I remember great pie at the cafe about two blocks from the dock, but can't remember the name of the cafe.
